The Laurel History Book contains 111 pages of amazing stories and photos collected by Ladies of Laurel women.  First published in 1977, the book is now back in print, thanks to Ladies of Laurel which owns the copyright.  The book sells for $20, with proceeds supporting the reprinting of the book, and also Laurel Gathering events. This quilt pictured here is called “Our Hearts Our In Laurel,” and was hand made by the Ladies of Laurel Social Club to raise the money needed to help pay for the creation of the Laurel history book.

The had made quilt squares were sewn together for this “Our Hearts Are In Laurel” quilt. This quilt was sold to pay for some of the cost to create the history book.
